Success in the bag for online boutique
AS a development manager with a business support organisation Dawn Huntrod has helped countless people move onto the entrepreneurial ladder.
And now she has done the same for herself, launching Internet-based designer handbag boutique Mfuko (which means bag in Swahili) from her home at Middridge, near Newton Aycliffe.
Dawn, who was raised in Teesdale, had her original sights on being a Flat jockey and was disappointed when she grew too tall for that dream.
But since then, she said, she has worked with a lot of women who have given her inspiration to go on to greater things.
Gucci Monogram Replica And it was this inspiration that drove her to forming her own company earlier this year after meeting Elizabeth Valgolio, who imports designer handbags from around the world.
Elizabeth supplies boutiques throughout the UK - but all on the high street.
"It was Elizabeth who gave me the idea to launch an Internet boutique to offer an exclusive range of handbags and accessories," says Dawn, 37, who is continuing to work for Middlesbrough-based Walker Hall Associates.
Dawn added: "Mfuko is the only online designer store to offer such an exclusive range of handbags and accessories - Breitling Replica Watches but it takes time to build, and eventually I want to brand my own handbags.

"They can only be purchased through large department stores such as Harrods and Selfridges, so I'm giving consumers the opportunity to buy designer goods from their desktop without having to leave the house."
Mfuko sells a range of handbags and accessories from a number of designers, including Jean-Paul Gaultier, Natalie French and Frank Usher. Prices suit all pockets.
She said: "I didn't have the funds to set up my own shop.
"Trading online was a much more viable option and the online shopping mall of North East Regional Portal, n-e-life.com, seemed the perfect place to showcase the site.
"The team at n-e-life have been fantastic."
