WASHINGTON, D.C. -- As snow began to pound downtown streets Friday afternoon, the nation's capital was anticipating a fierce winter storm that threatened to cancel college events in the region.

"Paralyzing," "monstrous" and "crippling" were some of the descriptives heard.

For the Duquesne men's basketball team, it was just another day to prepare for the game today at George Washington.

"We've been talking a lot about what we're doing well and what we're not doing well and what it's going to take replica breitling watches for us to get back on track," Duquesne coach Ron Everhart said.

As the weather began to deteriorate, George Washington athletics director Jack Kvancz assured both teams that every effort would be made to play the game. Kvancz stressed that officials and game- management staff were expected to be present for the 2 p.m. tip.

Also, George Washington is offering a free video feed of the game on . The video feed normally is made available for a nominal fee.

The Dukes arrived Thursday in the District of Columbia following a 76-60 loss at No. 19 Temple on Wednesday night. They practiced yesterday morning and continued to huddle in film sessions and strategy round tables throughout the day.

"It's great for us to take the opportunity to bond as a team," Everhart said. "Being on the road once in a while is good for these guys. I think they get a lot out of it. We've got good kids. They work hard. We just don't have a lot of confidence."

After completing its non-conference portion of the schedule with a 9-5 record, Duquesne (11-11) is just 2-6 in the Atlantic 10 Conference, where it finds itself in a fight to secure one of the 12 A-10 Tournament spots.

George Washington (12-9, 2-6) is locked in a four-way tie with Duquesne, Massachusetts and St. Bonaventure near the bottom of the A- 10 standings.

The Dukes' two A-10 victories over St. Bonaventure and Saint Joseph's have been by a combined five points. They led Temple much of the first half and trailed by only seven points in the second half before the Owls went on a 25-5 tear.

"We took some ill-advised shots," Everhart said. "I liked the energy we came out with early. We guarded them pretty effectively. But, defensively, we got soft because we didn't work as hard as we did in the early going."

Everhart, who watched the Dukes jump to a 10-2 lead, described the game as "a tale of two halves."

Added Everhart: "It's not the first time that's happened to us this year."
